We rode 97 miles from Pampa, Texas to Elk City, Oklahoma today, crossing the border at mile 61. The wind was a factor today, at our backs some, with gusting 40 mph cross-winds, we had to lean our bikes to the right again to keep from being blown over. The temperature was about 50 degrees when we left, and around 65 at the completion of the ride, pretty chilly weather with the wind. We had some climbing mixed in with the flat highway traveling thru farm land and cattle ranches for the most part. One of the interesting things I did today was to draft behind a farm implement being towed by a tractor. I thought this would be significant and appropriate to our business at EDA. Pretty fun, and it made the ride easier for a while, although a little dangerous. Tomorrow we ride 125 miles to Chickasha, Oklahoma.
